The Brief

Youth and Success

There are many reasons a child in high school or a child between the ages of 15 and 19, should receive an understanding about their God given purpose and how their lives are shaped for success and not failure. It would be a dishonorable thing to tell a child seeking a career or just a job that they can't be what they want to be in this Great Nation that we live in. Lessons are created to help mold and direct our youth for leadership and enhance skills that are sometimes hidden from view. Children are more than just a "rap" song and more than just a statistic in a given community. Investing time and purpose that is driven by passion and concerns helps us know there are non- profit organizations and businesses that have been created with the intent to provide and support the needs of children. It starts with a commitment, lessons in life, and removing invisible boundaries that hold back creativity in our children. It starts by recognizing the power of change in paradigms (a model) that is truly geared for success, and striving for our children to be all that they can be, whether college bound or work bound. They have it in them and any boundary can be removed. I say this because I was once in a position as a teenager and discovered through study AND encouragement my purpose. Is your Church investing in the youth?

Being Unique

We were saved and set free the day we were born, however the choices that we make in our lives introduce us to bondages that may keep us from being what our Father and Mother wants us to be. When I look back at the choices that I made, I can only say, my education in life began when I turn into a woman on my own and "doing" what I wanted, both in relationships and a career. When I read the Bible I am blessed beyond all words with the lessons that I have learned in my young years and now know where I belong and what I should do constantly to keep my eye on the real prize. Nothing we do matters if Our Heavenly Father is not included in our daily living. If you have not given your life to Christ and accepted Him as your Savior, I invite you to say this prayer of faith and find a church that you can attend, be taught and grow Spiritually in Christ and become that Unique Child of God that you are. "Father I thank You for making me realize that without you I am nothing and with You I am everything. Thank You Father for Your precious Blood. Forgive me of all my sins and trespasses and make me understand and know that I am the Righteousness of You. I commit my life to You Jesus and I thank You for being my Savior. Lead me Jesus and help me prosper in the Word, so that Your Word is stored and treasured in my heart. Help me to be the person you ordained me to be. Amen!" Pray faithfully everyday and see God change your circumstances and your living. Be Blessed.

The Criminal Justice System

The criminal justice system should not be the place for our young men and women to learn their self worth and purpose. We fail them when we don't teach them to be men and women. This is largely due to the generations that are being birth. We should always encourage our young people to be what ever they want to be and keep them focus on positive things versus negative things. It is important that communities invest in places that can develop the youth where our schools don't have the resources and money for special programs. Our Youth are important citizens and they are extensions of you and I. We should always encourage and even challenge them to excel in all that they do and where they may fall short, we help them along the way. Dr. Maya Angelou is the perfect example of how a young child developed into excellence despite her living environment and the negative things that happened to her as a little girl. My heart bleeds for young men and even women that will never experience a good life because they have given up on themselves. If we teach them, they will know their true value and will live life with purpose. The correctional facilities houses greatness that needs to be defined, refined and polished. God has something for everyone, even those that have been placed behind bars for crimes that they commit. We have a lot to offer broken vessels, to mend their hearts and minds that let them know, Yes you did wrong, but No! you are not lost to what God has for you.
