Life Skills and Job Readiness

Life Skills and Job Readiness is a program designed to teach practical methods to apply life skills that are not taught in high school curriculums. The instructional block covers personal development; leadership; conflict resolutions and decision making; financial skills; public speaking; verbal and non-verbal communication; first impressions; basic criminal and traffic laws; job interviewing skills; goal setting; and demeanor. The students that enroll in the program will be required to participate in class exercises, such as, mock interviews; public speaking, team building and maintain a journal that conveys their thoughts and dreams. Guest speakers will provide insight about their business endeavors and share their success stories. The class instills in the students avenues or a sense of direction. It is very engaging, demanding and it requires full participation. Each student leaves with the knowledge, skills and abilities that would make them marketable for any career. This program also expresses to the young adults the value of furthering their education and through the guest speakers that participate they see the value of it. The training is about changing mindsets and real-time learning. The Program is twelve weeks or presented in sessions as needed.
